NAR Midyear DC Highlights

What a fun meeting!  Congrats YPN on becoming an official committee, and to our future President Moe Veissi for challenging us to think outside the box. Kudos on another successful YPN event.  Thank you RPAC for sponsoring the evening, and to all of you who showed up to support RPAC.  Koki’s $25,000 donation was impressive, but just think if we all matched it $1000/year for 25 years.  We can make a huge impact together.

Thank you Brian Copeland, James Nellis, and Ian Phipps for taking part in the Marketing Forum on using Video to Promote yourself.  Rumor has it, it was most people’s favorite session.  You guys did a fantastic job.

For those of you who missed the event you can catch up through  Midyear Live- a cool idea implemented for the first time using Pegshot- REALTORS were able to post what was going on when, from videos to pictures.  Really cool technology.  Checkout the aftermath and see what went down: Midyear Live

Here are some of my favorite highlight pictures from the event! Hope to see you in N.O. for Convention!

Toronto REALTOR Quest

Thank you Toronto for being such gracious hosts. You guys were so much fun and incredibly hospitable. Your REALTOR Quest was a huge success. So exciting to see over 10,000 agents eager to network and expand their knowledge base. You really know how to have an event.

In many ways you Canadians are more advanced than us in the States, it may be the “hot” real estate market you’re currently experiencing. But your use of Facebook and other Online marketing tools is ahead of the states in my opinion, way to go!

For those of you requesting the powerpoint you can Download it here!

Also please enjoy some of these fun pictures from my stay there in Toronto- do you see yourself in these?

What an honor it was to spend two days in Northern California with the agents of Realty World NCA.  You guys were so attentive and a joy to speak with throughout the event.  Kudos to Erin (RWNCA) and Derek from Roost for  a great presentation on Facebook and Twitter. I learned a lot from you guys… especially about twitter- I still haven’t figured out why I should use it. But I’m getting closer.

David Gibbons with Zillow was entertaining, you guys sure gave him a run for his money. I think he did great job explaining how his rocket scientist came up with their algorithms.  My favorite take away from Zillow is their new site launch is full of statistical data that we can all use.  There’s an embed option, that pulls the HTML code for us to insert in blog posts. It’s easy and pretty cool.

And least I not forget a thank you to James Dwiggins who put this event together-  you’re company is going in the right direction.  From what I’ve seen out there you’re leaps and bounds ahead of your competition. Enjoy this brief slide show, click here to download my powerpoint! Thanks again for a great time!

ypn_king_shannon_williams.JPGIt’s crazy to think we’re just a few days away from NAR midyear meetings in Washington, D.C. If you haven’t already registered for these meetings I encourage you to join YPN the week of May 11-15 at the Marriott Wardman Hotel in Washington, DC. (Registration is free to all NAR members; register online).

This will be my third year to attend NAR’s Midyear meetings, and I’m looking forward to once again seeing the “backbone” of NAR committees working together for a week straight. It truly is amazing seeing the “politics” of NAR come to life. (more…)
